Extreme Makeover: Coffee Machine Edition

They say that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but when it comes to coffee machines, the opposite is true. A good quality coffee machine, with lots of love and attention, can be restored to its former glory, if not better than, if placed in the right hands.

We proved this to be true, with this Brasilia 2 group lever machine, as we refurbished it from its old lady state to the fresh, youthful machine it is today.

This vintage girl came to us from an old country club, where she spent many years in service, creating the perfect blend. She arrived rusted, dusty and cobweb infested and somewhat of an eyesore for the average person. We however, saw the beauty and potential of this old lady and immediately got stuck in with cleaning her up to bring her back to life.

Many an hour, a heap of attention and a clean lick of paint and this old lady was ready to turn heads again. She sure is a beauty – a slick, fresh, revamped beauty.

You will now find Miss Brasilia at Love Coffee in Durban – a gorgeous, hip coffee shop – the perfect spot for this vintage beauty. She keeps many a patron warm and happy with her rich, hearty cups of coffee, in true legend style. Pop in to see her and have a taste of her goodness – she won’t disappoint.

This extreme makeover coffee edition was performed by our West Coast Coffee technical division, who are well versed in the refurbishment, service and maintenance of a wide range of coffee equipment around South Africa.

It’s always exciting taking on a new challenge and we so enjoyed the challenge of refurbishing this beauty – the end result is so worth the hard work it takes to get there.
